Land Studio is a specialist landscape architecture, design and masterplanning practice based in Chester and North Wales.

Simon Richards; a landscape architect with extensive experience in urban design, masterplanning, public realm and visitor destination projects, heads up the practice alongside a highly skilled and motivated team. A short description of each team member is shown below:
Simon Richards - landscape architect, DIRECTOR
Simon has spent over fifteen years leading design teams and projects on a range of sites throughout the UK and internationally, from the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, to Aira Force and Lyme Park for the National Trust, brownfield regeneration sites in Lancashire and Scotland as well as projects in North Africa, China and the Middle East. He is also a panelist and joint chair for the Design Commission for Wales and a panelist for the Chester City design review panel.
Kate Richards - Senior Landscape Architect
Kate has dual qualifications in both landscape architecture and architecture and has studied and worked in both disciplines throughout the UK over the past twelve years. She has been involved in a wide range of projects, including further and higher education, regeneration, healthcare and public realm. She has previously been a studio tutor at the University of Liverpool and a PLACED Ambassador, delivering architecture workshops in schools across Merseyside.
Ben Riley - Senior landscape architect
Ben studied at Sheffield University, and since qualifying, has gone on to work in multi-disciplinary private practices in Liverpool, both on a small scale, and also as part of a global company. He has over 10 years’ experience working across the Health, Education, Residential and Transport sectors, as well has several high-profile public realm projects. Examples of some of Ben’s work includes Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Tameside Interchange and King David School Liverpool. Ben joined Land Studio’s Chester Office in October 2018.
Rachael Fenton - Senior Landscape Architect
Since graduating from the University of Sheffield Rachael has spent the last 10 years working in landscape practices across the country. Gaining experience in small private practices and large multi-disciplinary design teams, where she has worked on a variety of landscape planning and design projects. Over the last 4 years Rachael has focused on the design and delivery of a number of new primary schools which have required the production of the landscape design in Revit and coordination through Common Data Environments. This has allowed her to develop the Landscape Architect’s role in the successful delivery of BIM Level 2 projects. Rachael joined Land Studio’s Chester Office in May 2019.
Sian Rossiter – Graduate Landscape Architect
Sian graduated from Manchester School of Architecture and has experience working for both environmental consultancies and large multi-disciplinary practices on a range of landscape planning and design projects across a variety of sectors. Her experience includes; large residential schemes, transport infrastructure and utilities projects. Prior to undertaking her masters degree in landscape architecture, Sian worked in the social housing sector; developing extra care housing schemes and community/stakeholder engagement strategies. She has also studied various visual communications disciplines; from graphic design to photography and film production.
