Do you have an issue with flooding?

Led by our in-house sustainable drainage engineer Lisa Sawyer, we are working with clients to review water management on sites and retrofit sustainable drainage system (SuDS) where possible to help reduce flooding, remove discharge of surface water to the public sewer systems and reduce pollution to the environment.

We use retrofitting methods to replicate the natural process on site to drain surface water run-off by collecting and storing, cleaning and managing rainfall close to where it falls to allow it to be slowly released back into the environment

We utilise many SuDS techniques in our designs from the small-scale incorporation of water butts and raingardens to the incorporation of a multiple SuDS to form a surface water management chain which could include swales, permeable paving, wetlands and raingardens on large scale residential, commercial or industrial sites.

We know that continuing today’s current approach to managing surface water with unrestricted discharge into sewers is completely unsustainable.

Retrofitting sustainable drainage systems doesn’t just potentially help solve problems with flooding by reducing water quantity to the downstream receptors, but it also improves water quality and provides benefits which increase biodiversity and amenity qualities. It’s a win win.

·         If you have flooding issues and would like to have a chat about our nature led solutions do get in touch. We can help you with concept design options through to detailed design, procurement and management of surveys, stakeholder management and supervision of the incorporation of SuDS whatever the scale of project.
