Project focus: sea cliff restoration work

Land Studio’s Director of Ecology Val Gateley has been supervising vegetation strimming on a protected sea cliff habitat in North Wales.

The work was important ahead of some slope stabilisation work along the bay at Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula, popular with visitors for its sandy beach.

It’s part of a project we’re working on with a client looking to redevelop a 1970s house in an area of SSSI and SAC.

Val said: “We’re also looking at the landscaping of the property and I’ve been reviewing the type of planting that will work best there and be sensitive to the setting.

“We’ve repositioned small clumps of bluebells and we’ll be planting native coastal plants including Sea Pinks, a hardy little perennial wildflower, which is common on coastlines and can cope with the elements.”
