Landscape strategy for Anglesey house

A formal landscape and visual appraisal can be the key to effective planning decisions.

Detailed guidance on how a potential development may – or may not - visually impact the character of a landscape can help planning in their decision making.

We worked on such an appraisal for a replacement dwelling in Anglesey which was recently granted planning permission.

The site lies within the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Anglesey Coastline Site of Special Scientific Interest and near several Grade II Listed structures.

We looked at the context of the site, the design proposals and took detailed viewpoint photographs. We set out recommendations and a planting strategy to aid with integration of the site within the wider landscape character.

Our appraisal helped to show planners how the proposed new dwellings could bed into the surrounding landscape.
