A talk to Landscape Institute Wales

Land Studio founder Simon Richards gave a talk to the Landscape Institute Wales this month at their AGM.

In it he called for landscape architects to be more vocal as a profession and challenged them to push to take the lead on building projects from a very early stage.

He said: “As a profession, we understand holistic design solutions and our work actively helps to combat climate change and enhances biodiversity.

“By taking the lead on projects, landscape architects can contribute to a range of subjects from a site’s character and setting to its water management. Our work can promote design excellence throughout the country.

“Building for the future needs to be landscape driven. I’d like to see more landscape architects push themselves forward and put themselves on design teams.”
